Dr. Annika McKillop grew up Watsonville, CA. She decided to become a veterinarian in high school while she worked at a small animal clinic in her hometown. It wasn't until her undergraduate studies that she learned about poultry, and changed her career path.
Annika graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She then went to veterinary school at Western University of Health Sciences. She graduated in 2010, and continued her studies in poultry medicine at North Carolina State University. Annika received her Master in Specialized Veterinary Medicine and finished her residency in Poultry Health Management in 2012, and then became boarded as a Diplomate of the American College of Poultry Veterinarians.
In her spare time, Annika enjoys cooking, knitting, and going to baseball games with her husband and daughter.

McKillop Poultry Medicine, LLC was founded by Dr. Annika McKillop to provide veterinary care and management advice to large and small commercial flocks, niche growers, and backyard flocks. We serve all of Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, and come to your home/farm to perform all services. We do not have a central office to bring your birds as a measure to protect the health of your flock.
There are less than 300 boarded poultry veterinarians in the world, and Dr. McKillop is one of them. She is board certified by the American College of Poultry Veterinarians, and specializes in working with chickens (layers and broilers), turkeys, ducks, quail, pigeons and other domestic fowl.
McKillop Poultry Medicine strives to promote and assist owners in achieving optimal health, production, and best management practices for their flocks.
